Summary Of Local Stations Impacted By Waterloo Partial Closure

Chessington Branch

  • Chessington South – Closed
  • Chessington North – Closed
  • Tolworth – Closed
  • Malden Manor – Closed
  • Motspur Park, Raynes Park, Wimbledon,  – Significantly fewer trains will call at this station
    • You may be asked to queue outside the station
    • The train you usually catch may not be running
    • Services will be much busier than usual
    • Your journey may take longer
    • You may not be able to board the first train when you arrive
  • Earlsfield – No trains will call at Earlsfield station on weekdays, in either direction, during the mornings and evenings.
    • Therefore, the station will be closed until 1000 and again from 1630 to 1930.
    • Trains will stop at Earlsfield in both directions between 10.00am and 16.30pm and after 19.30pm.
  • Clapham Junction – Anticipated to be busier than usual, it is recommended that you avoid interchanging at Clapham Junction.
    • You may be asked to queue outside the station
    • The train you usually catch may not be running
    • Your services may usual a different platform than usual
    • Services will be much busier
    • Your journey may take longer
  • Vauxhall – Closed to trains from Wimbledon (this includes all trains Surbition Line and Epsom Line), passengers must continue to Waterloo
  • London Waterloo – It is anticipated that London Waterloo will be busier then usual due to reduction and changes to most services.
    • The main concourse will be exceptionally busy, particularly during the afternoon and evening when passengers are typically travelling home
    • Even if your morning journey is not affected, you will have to wait to board a train
    • We may take measures to stop the station becoming overcrowded, including restricting or closing entrances

Surbiton Line

  • Oxshott, Claygate – Fewer trains than usual will call here between the 5 and 28 August 2017 inclusive.

  • Surbiton – Fewer trains will call during this time and passengers who may usually travel from other nearby stations may choose to travel from here.
    • You may be asked to queue outside the station

  • Berrylands – Fewer trains than usual will call here between the 5 and 28 August 2017 inclusive.

  • New Malden – Significantly fewer trains will call at this station from 5 to 28 August 2017 inclusive.
    • You may be asked to queue outside the station
    • The train you usually catch may not be running
    • Services will be much busier than usual

    • You may not be able to board the first train when you arrive

Epsom Line

  • Epsom – Fewer South West Trains than usual will call here between the 5 and 28 August 2017 inclusive.

    • Southern will operate a normal service.
  • Ewell West (Zone 6) – Fewer trains than usual will call here between the 5 and 28 August 2017 inclusive.
    • The train you usually catch may not be running

  • Stoneleigh – Stoneleigh station will maintain the usual frequency of weekday trains between 5 and 28 August 2016. However, due to the reduced capacity at many surrounding stations we expect the station itself and services to and from this station to be much busier than usual.
